Homemade Organic Bodycare Workshop at WINGS

17 Sep 2013 | Workshops | 3 comments

I had a great time at WINGS (Women’s Initiative for Ageing Successfully) conducting the Homemade Organic Bodycare and Laundry Products workshop. In this workshop, I shared with the ladies how to make your own lip balms and lotion bars as well as getting to learn about Soap Nuts. I hope you beautiful ladies had a great time learning and making these wonderful products as much as I do.

Lip balms and lotion bars are really easy to make for yourself, or as a wonderful handmade gift for your friends during birthdays or festive seasons. You just need a few good organic ingredients to create and enjoy the benefits that these raw ingredients bring in your lip balms and lotion bar. It is something I encourage everyone to make on your own.Β  And of course I encourage you to make your own laundry and all-purpose natural detergent using Soap Nuts which is really easy.

The ladies took great interest in the raw ingredients. I had a good time sharing with them too.

Let’s check out some of the raw ingredients that we will be using. We use organic and high quality ingredients like Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Beeswax, Coconut Oil and so on. They smell so nice and yum!

Some ladies felt as if we are going back to chemistry class. Haha! But I think this is much easier than chemistry workshops. Even simpler than cooking.

Ok, we need some steady hands here to pour the mixture into the super slim lip balm tubes. Challenging but fun.

Next, of course we need to look at what Soap Nuts is and how to use it. We also witness its magical suds releasing into the water. Amazing.

A quiet class initially, but turned into a class full of smiles and laughter! I think we all felt very happy and satisfied looking at our final handmade products – lip balms and lotion bar. And of course we had fun decorating them too. πŸ˜‰

We had the organizer, Evelyn (4th from the right) and together with Mindy (not in the photo), assisting me and Junming from the start till the end of the workshop. Thank you both for your help. I really appreciate it.
