Moisture free is key when storing Soap Nuts. If you are in a humid and hot climate like I am, store them in an air-tight container to prevent moisture from getting to them. And store them in a cool place away from sunlight.

If moisture gets to the Soap Nuts, they will become a little more sticky and gummy. And as it age, the nuts will turn to a darker brown shade. But you don’t have to worry, as the cleaning power is still the same. It still cleanse as well.

Safety

Another important thing to do is to keep it away from children and store it away from food. Because soap nuts look like an edible dried fruit, people might mistaken it for some snacks. If eaten, the person will most likely vomit. Please store it away like how you would store a detergent.
