Tomato can help to remove excess oil on the face and it’s especially suitable for people with oily skin like me. Consistent application also aids in the removal of blackheads, shrinking of pores, whitening and smoothing of the skin. Its antibacterial properties also makes it a good remedy for acne.
I’m pretty prone to having blackheads on my face. So you can imagine how excited I was when I got to know that tomato can help to diminish my blackheads. But I was warned that it is not an overnight remedy. It can take a few months to a few years. Patience and determination is a must! I really don’t mind and I would prefer taking this safe and natural route.
When I applied the tomato pulp onto my face, I felt a slight stinging and itchy sensation on my skin for the first 5 to 10 minutes. But the sensation goes away after a while and my skin felt tight. After rinsing off with water, it left my skin feeling fresher, hydrated and clean. I also feel good knowing that I am using something natural. =)
I have consistently applied tomato pulp onto my face for the past 1 month and I’ve noticed that the pores on my face seemed to have shrunk a little. And my blackheads are less obvious now, although there’s still a lot of the tiny ones here and there. I will definitely continue this natural remedy.
The whole process is actually as simple as cutting the tomato in half, rub it onto your face and neck (if you wish), rinse off with water after 15 mins and you are done. =)
If you have time to spare, you can also prepare the tomato pulp using the following ways:
A) Slice the tomato and mash it into a pulp using a fork or spoon. This is surprisingly not easy for me to do…
B) Use a mortar and pestle if you have one, it is easier to mash up the tomato into a pulp.
C) Or, if you are cooking some dish with tomato, you can first scoop out the inside of the tomato and store its juicy parts in the fridge for later use. Or apply immediately. This is a good way to not waste any parts of the tomato. =)
Enjoy the natural remedy to a healthier skin! *wink*
